The Lentivirus Packaging Mix Powered by MISSION? Genomics is an optimized formulation of two plasmids expressing the structural and regulatory (gag, pol and rev) and viral envelope (VSV-G) proteins required for producing high titer lentivirus with broad viral tropism. Lentivirus is produced by co-transfecting the Lentivirus Packaging Mix (second generation) and a compatible second or third generation transfer vector encoding the gene of interest (GOI) into adherent or suspension HEK 293 cells. Lentivirus particles are secreted into the cell culture medium where they are collected at 48 hours post-transfection, filtered and frozen into aliquots for subsequent transduction into target cells. The Lentivirus Packaging Mix is sold separately or as part of the TransIT? Lentivirus System (MIR 6650).
