      HiTrap®HeparinHPcolumnsareprepackedwithHeparinSepharose®HighPerformanceforhigh-resolutionpurificationofproteinswithaffnityforheparinsuchasDNA-bindingproteins,coagulationfactors,lipoproteins,andproteinsynthesisfactors.

      Immobilizedheparinhastwomainmodesofinteractionwithproteins.Itcanoperateasanaffinityligandwithaffinityforawiderangeofbiomolecules,includingcoagulationfactorsandotherplasmaproteins,lipoproteins,proteinsynthesisfactors,enzymesthatactonnucleicacids,andsteroidreceptors.Heparinalsofunctionsasahighcapacitycationexchanger,duetoitsanionicsulfategroups.GrADIentelutionwithsaltismostcommonlyusedinbothcases.
